Legendary DJ and Certificate 18 Label Manager Paul Arnold started Chew The Fat! in 1997 at The Bug Bar in the crypt of St. Matthew’s Church, Brixton. Chew The Fat! is now the longest running breaks night in the world and is synonymous for fresh parties, cutting edge music and good honest unpretentious fun. Chew The Fat! has just turned 8 this year and it’s impact on the scene and dance music generally during this time cannot be underestimated. Fat! captured a sound still in it’s infancy and brought DJ’s, Producers and punters together for an eclectic mish-mash of hip hop beats fused with funked up bass that rolls beautifully at an accessible house tempo.
